The Electrify Fleet Initiative is a project aimed at establishing a robust Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to support EV fleets engaged in passenger and freight transportation. Spearheaded by a prominent enabler in the ride-hailing domain, this initiative is set to significantly diminish greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by displacing traditional fossil fuel-powered vehicles with electric counterparts. Currently, the project is rolled out in Kenya and Rwanda – to scale to Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. This initiative goes beyond merely introducing electric vehicles into the market. The proponent, known for its ride-hailing services, not only provides electric cars but also ensures the availability of necessary EV charging stations.
